In this first mentoring session my mentor, Justin asked me what style of acting I wanted to do and I chose naturalism because of the debby tucker green piece we previously worked on because we were exploring her style of theatre. But because of the odd number of mentees I wasn't able to do a duologue and so after some discussion we decided I should do a monologue; which I was happy to do because I was able to explore her work further. This will be more challenging and means I have to work harder, this particular monologue is also different because it is very raw, the language is explicit and the themes implied are morally wrong.
To begin my research I looked at reviews of the play, to try and get an understanding of what the play was about before reading it and also what others said about the play after seeing it.
